Today, seven years ago,
was a very important day in my life, something happened that day that changed
my life forever, because 7 years ago, on October the 28th I took
my first ride on my first pony. That pony's name was Snow Berry,
a grey welsh cross, that has, over the years, taught dozens of
students the basics in english riding. Now, this pony wasn't just some
old plodder, he had a huge heart and very willing to please, but
unfortunately, his body couldn't always fullfill what he wanted to do.
After many years in retirement, this much loved friend of mine has
finally decided it was his time to pass, and that is why I am emailing
you today, because Snow Berry of Sheffield Stables, a long loved
friend of many, died of a heart attack early this month, at the
ripe old age of 43. If you could possibly post this somewhere on the AtlanticRider
website, to let others know of this tragedy, it would be much
appreciated by many, many young and old riders alike, to honour this
pony who first taught me how to ride...
With A Heavy Heart,
Jordan Kaye, 13 years
old (October 28, 2002)
